POSITION: BridgeTogether Director

LOCATION: COVID-19 Remote/Washington, DC

 

American Bridge 21st Century, a progressive research and communications organization, is seeking an organizing professional to serve as Director of BridgeTogether, an aligned strategy of American Bridge designed to connect and sustain local progressive infrastructure and community organizing in key states where AB is also focused on research, driving local earned media, and paid media programs. Working closely with senior leadership of American Bridge, this position is charged with creating strong partnerships with proven local community organizations and initiatives across battleground states, helping them network with and from each other, and helping our national team align their related missions with the vital organizing work being done on the ground.

 

This position will be a member of the organization’s senior staff and will be responsible for interfacing with partners and allies as well as coordinating with other members of the leadership team. This position is currently remote but will eventually be based in American Bridge’s Washington D.C. office.

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Develop a plan for the first cycle of the BridgeTogether fund, in consultation with senior American Bridge leadership.
  • Identify impactful local organizations to fund and partner with.
  • Negotiate grant agreements and metrics of success for the program as a whole and individual partnerships.
  • Cultivate relationships with grassroots leaders and develop opportunities for groups to share learnings and best practices with one another and with national partner organizations.
  • Develop content to highlight the work of BridgeTogether, including proposing guests from local organizing groups for our co-chair Governor Deval Patrick’s “Being American” podcast.

 

Skills and qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience in progressive or Democratic politics, with work in local grassroots organizations a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to develop deep and impactful partnerships internally and with external organizations.
  • Strong written and spoken communications skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and cultures.
  • Creative and strategic approach to planning—with a deep belief in the power of organizing to create change.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects at once and complete them in a timely manner.
  • An understanding of the progressive landscape and relationships with grassroots organizations.
  • Work well under pressure and on deadline in a fast-paced environment. 

 

American Bridge 21st Century PAC offers a competitive salary range starting at $110,000 for this position and a strong benefits package.
